Martin Goodman
UK Executive Chairman

Martin Goodman was Managing Director of the Public Sector Business at Cable & Wireless. His responsibilities covered all of C&W’s business activities associated with government and its agencies in the UK. Martin also had a particular focus in ensuring that Cable & Wireless align their business to support the government transformation and the sustainability agenda. Martin was previously Director of Public Sector Business at IBM. Before this, Martin was IBM’s Director for Electronic Business for Europe (1997-1999). In 1992 he was appointed IBM’s Director, UK Banking Sector. Previously he had been Director of the Energy Industries Business. Martin is a member of a number of government and industry groups.

Jon Gaster
Group Chairman

Jon is an IBM alumnus who has excelled throughout his career at developing and delivering innovative, technology-backed business solutions. Long interested in sustainability, he found that real action was out of reach for most of the SME’s community. Traditional consulting-based offerings are too complex or too expensive or both. Using new technology and business model innovations Jon has taken an established sustainability certification company and is transforming it into a “game-changer”.

Steve Malkin
UK CEO and Global Head of Communications

Steve is one of the founders of Planet Positive and a specialist in communication. Steve developed the Planet Positive brand, protocol and certification as a means to inspire people into action on climate change and sustainability. He now heads the UK operation and communications worldwide. He is a serial entrepreneur having launched a number of businesses most recently, a successful carbon and sustainability consultancy. The latter, dcarbon8, was sold to Deloitte in February 2010, which has allowed Steve to focus on the worldwide development of the Planet Positive brand and certification.

Michael Bobenko
Chief Operating Officer

As Senior Vice President of Operations for the Los Angeles Film Office (FilmLA), Michael directed the operations of a multi-departmental nonprofit corporation that worked with the County and City of Los Angeles, as well as the State of California, to ensure trouble free on-location filming throughout the region. During that time Mike was responsible for the development of policies and systems that streamlined the film permit process, saving government and the entertainment industry millions of dollars annually. He is responsible for the creation and implementation of a fully online, automated permitting system designed to deliver thousands of complex film permits throughout the Los Angeles region yearly. He has also provided operational and government relations consulting services to various other Southern California nonprofit organizations, including the Wildlife Waystation and the Youth Policy Institute. Mike's experience in developing, managing and scaling complex business operations is invaluable.

Rodney Henson
Chief Technology Officer

Rod is a technologist with a difference. Capable of complex coding Rod also specializes in applying technology to business operations. He has spent his career building and deploying easy-to-use systems that encourage user interaction. His work experience is wide-ranging, including stints at 20th Century Fox, FileMaker (an Apple subsidiary),The Walt Disney Company, Deamworks SKG, Move Networks and he was President and CTO of Columbus Entertainment.

Caroline Isaac
Sales Director

Prior to joining Planet Positive, Caroline spent nearly 30 years with IBM in a wide variety of positions across all major sectors, working initially in operations, and subsequently as a systems security specialist on a European basis.

Having previously been in the WRNS, Caroline moved to become a Salesman within the Public Sector community and spent several years working with the Army, Navy, RAF as well as US Forces in the UK. After assignment to South Africa where she worked in the mid 90s with the South African Police Force and Correctional Services Agency (Prison Service) in Pretoria, she returned to the UK to lead IT projects in a myriad of customers, including DWP, Inland Revenue, HM Land Registry and UK Police Forces. Caroline has also worked as the UK Sales Manager for the IBM Distribution partner base. 

Caroline spent the last 10 years of her IBM career within the scientific and technical communities offering High Performance Computing solutions to environmental agencies such as the UK Met Office, ECMWF, Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory and UK academia. She left IBM in 2010.

Caroline was brought up in central Lancashire, lives in Surrey and holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Maritime Studies (Oceanography and Meteorology) from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST). She is Secretary of the local Cricket Club.

Sarah Gillett
Community and Policy Manager

Sarah has a Masters in Forestry from the University of Oxford, and has maintained a focus on communities and sustainability - spreading the word about making positive changes in a changing climate - since she graduated. Prior to working at Planet Positive she worked for Forest Research (Forestry Commission), ForestEthics in California and the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford. She has worked on policy analysis, engaging communities in sustainability issues, and training communities in sustainable forest management methods.

Henry Simonds
Communications Manager

With an academic background in sustainability, Henry is working towards his goal of developing and scaling innovative and sustainable solutions that create global economic, environmental, and social value. With a strong passion for inspiring change through communications and behaviour change led campaigns, Henry shows that the environment can be a positive benefit to organisations, saving both time and money and helping to win business. With an interest in exploring the economic significance of connecting biodiversity, the role of community forests and maintaining ecosystems, he believes markets need to reflect the value of ecosystem services.
