Martin Goodman UK Executive Chairman

Martin Goodman was Managing Director of the Public Sector Business at Cable & Wireless. His responsibilities covered all of C&W’s business activities associated with government and its agencies in the UK. Martin also had a particular focus in ensuring that Cable & Wireless align their business to support the government transformation and the sustainability agenda. Martin was previously Director of Public Sector Business at IBM. Before this, Martin was IBM’s Director for Electronic Business for Europe (1997-1999). In 1992 he was appointed IBM’s Director, UK Banking Sector. Previously he had been Director of the Energy Industries Business. Martin is a member of a number of government and industry groups.

Steve Malkin UK CEO

Steve is one of the founders of Planet Positive and a specialist in communication. Steve developed the Planet Positive brand, protocol and certification as a means to inspire people into action on climate change and sustainability. He now heads the UK operation and communications worldwide. He is a serial entrepreneur having launched a number of businesses most recently, a successful carbon and sustainability consultancy. The latter, dcarbon8, was sold to Deloitte in February 2010, which has allowed Steve to focus on the worldwide development of the Planet Positive brand and certification.

Henry Simonds Communications Director

With an academic background in sustainability, Henry is working towards his goal of developing and scaling innovative and sustainable solutions that create global economic, environmental, and social value. With a strong passion for inspiring change through communications and behaviour change led campaigns, Henry shows that the environment can be a positive benefit to organisations and people, saving both time and money and helping to win business. At Planet Positive, Henry is responsible for developing and managing the Planet Positive Building Certification. He is also heavily involved in the creation and delivery of employee engagement programmes for clients.

Sarah Gillett Community and Policy Manager

Sarah has a Masters in Forestry from the University of Oxford, and has maintained a focus on communities and sustainability - spreading the word about making positive changes in a changing climate - since she graduated. Prior to working at Planet Positive she worked for Forest Research (Forestry Commission), ForestEthics in California and the Environmental Change Institute, Oxford. She has worked on policy analysis, engaging communities in sustainability issues, and training communities in sustainable forest management methods.

Sabrina Hearn Operations Manager

Sabrina studied Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford before completing an MSc in Conservation at University College London. Her passion for nature led her to a career in sustainability as she believes that business has an important part to play in reducing the impacts we have on the environment. Sabrina’s role at Planet Positive includes helping businesses calculate their carbon footprints, and identify simple reduction actions to help achieve their targets.

Steve Forden Supply Chain and Policy Manager

Steve has an undergraduate degree in environmental science, a masters degree in palaeoclimatology and is putting the finishing touches to a PhD in climate science. Passionate about the environment and sustainability, Steve left academia to join Planet Positive in order to take a practical approach to solving some of the most pressing challenges we face as a society. In his spare time, he likes to climb mountains, wild swim and cook excessively elaborate food.

Craig Hearn Marketing Manager and Campaign Coordinator

Craig studied Philosophy (BA) at the University of York, International Hotel Management (MSc) at the University of Surrey and International Marketing (MSc) at Kings College London. After time in hospitality including Travelodge's Graduate Programme, he moved into marketing and PR and worked on the Olympic Games for Visit London before joining Planet Positive.

Craig is responsible for Planet Positive's marketing activity and manages the 7-days to Sustainability Programme, which offers free advice to SMEs to help them see the business benefits that sustainability offers. Outside of work he can be found in the gym, at a gig, or up a mountain.

Mark Dunham Business Development

Delighted to be addressing his long-term interest in sustainability, Mark is excited to be part of the Planet Positive team. He spent the last 20 years of his career in the sales and marketing division of IBM, working across a variety of industry sectors, latterly within the Higher Education and Research arena (universities and research establishments).

Initially, after a 3 year post-graduate commission as a mechanised platoon commander in the UK Army, Mark spent 5 years in the development arm of Lipton Tea, half of which was located in Karachi, Pakistan.
